Luminated Rhythm - Shagun Singh
Luminated Rhythm is a permanent public artwork by Shagun Singh, created in partnership with Hudson Valley MOCA and the City of Peekskill. The sculpture features a flowing, wave-like form inspired by Ecuadorian pollera skirts, honoring Peekskill’s Ecuadorian community and celebrating women of color. The piece was precisely fabricated using laser-cut and powder-coated metal, with engineering by James Richardson and fabrication by Fourth State LLC. Though the artwork’s internal lighting is still being developed, its rhythmic, colorful design already brings vibrancy and cultural resonance to the city.
